A New Cover for ROSALYN’S RING
A New Cover!
Last month the rights for my 2013 Christmas novella reverted back to me. Rights to the cover didn’t come with the manuscript, but that’s okay! Dar Albert of Wicked Smart Designs has given me a great new cover for this story about a late nobleman’s daughter who finds her way back to her lost home at Christmas, only to find it occupied by an upstart Viscount intent on seducing her.
Making it Better
I’m in the thick of tweaking this story. Though Rosalyn’s Ring was a prize-winner the year it came out, I wrote it for a call for submissions with a tight word count. With more knowledge of craft under my belt and no need to worry about word count limits, I’m making a few improvements. Look for this new, improved Rosalyn’s Ring in plenty of time for Christmas 2019.
And a Gift for my Newsletter Subscribers
And here is the cover for The Right Earl, a short story that will be available exclusively for my newsletter subscribers via Bookfunnel. I was all set to launch it when I decided to take one last look at it on my Kindle. Lo and behold, I found a few things needing fixing! (Always the case with my stories.) If you’re a newsletter subscriber, look for a link in your inbox later this month.
What’s Next
Between helping my daughter prepare for her baby girl’s arrival (any day now!) I’ve been working in bits and pieces of research on England during the French Revolutionary era for an upcoming series that will be a prequel to Sons of the Spy Lord. There seems to be a lot more information available about British domestic espionage during that period than there is about foreign espionage. If you have resources or recommendations for research, let me know!
I also just signed on to a 2021 group project with several other authors. We’ll be retelling tragic stories, setting them in the Regency era with happy endings–because, duh, we’re romance authors! My challenge is going to be Macbeth. Can’t wait to dig into this!
