Celebrating the Season: #MFRWAuthor Blog Challenge, Week 38
This week’s blog topic is The Best Parts of Each Season
Still on deadline, so here we go with another list:
Winter
I love that miraculous white blanket that covers everything and makes it look fresh and clean. We don’t have much (or any, actually) of that where I live, but we sometimes have rain, which is also pretty wonderful.
Spring
The transition to spring is very subtle where I live in Southern California, but I know when my freesias start blooming, we’re there. I love when my pomegranate tree, my grape vines, and my plumeria begin to sprout leaves and it’s time to plant the summer tomatoes. When the jacaranda trees turn purple we know we’re rounding the bend into the next season.
Summer
Since summer weather can come at any time in Southern California, even the middle of January, my favorite part of summer is a holiday, the Fourth of July.
Fall
Or, as the Brits say, Autumn: September is often the hottest month of the year here, and many times that heat spills over into October. I’m always glad when the heat has passed, and we have that first evening when it’s cool enough to make a fire in the fireplace and pretend that we live somewhere with incredible forests of gold and red leaves.
And of course, autumn features my favorite holiday, Halloween!
This is a blog hop, so follow the links below and hop along with my fellow MFRW Authors.
