Bucket list? What’s a bucket list?: #MFRWAuthor Blog Challenge, Week 48
This week’s official blog topic is 5 Things on my Bucket List.
This is an impossible topic for me, because I don’t have a bucket list. And you know why? Because the end of a bucket list is…death.
Every year I make New Year’s Resolutions and goals for myself (that will be the topic of our last post in this challenge). Every month I look at what needs to be done that month, and the same weekly. Every day I have a list of things I’d like to accomplish.
But…
But, since death is inevitable, I’ll take a stab at this week’s topic. By the time I die, I’d like to have accomplished the following:
- Optimize time with friends and family, especially the little ones.
- Be more flexible about this business so I can get up and go when my husband wants to travel.
- Do what it takes to keep my physical and spiritual selves in good order and fully functioning.
- Balance giving back to folks who have helped me with saying no to volunteer opportunities when they interfere with all of the above.
- Keep having fun with my writing.
There you have it! Let’s see what my fellow MFRW Authors have to say on this topic.

Great list for someone who doesn’t have a list
I love #4. That’s a tough one.
Yes, I really struggle with #4!
Saying no to people is always hard. I like the list you came up with (and hadn’t really thought of the whole “death” thing although I saw the movie). I’ve always considered a bucket list more of a “wish” list. I like Sherry Lewis’ name for it – a Life List!
I like that life list idea also, and I love that she replenishes it. The fountain of youth!
I think most of us felt the same way about the idea of the bucket list. LOL I do love all the things on your list and they all seem to be very attainable.
That pesky #4 is hard, though!
#4 is hard for me, too. I can’t count the number of times I’ve volunteered in a fit of generosity, only to find the work onerous when I later have other, more important things to do. You’d think I would’ve learned about volunteering for ongoing, long-term commitments, but I haven’t. Sigh.
Yes, I’m experiencing that right now. I had two good business opportunities I had to pass on because I knew I couldn’t do them justice with everything else on my plate.
I like your whole list. Number three is a great daily reminder, which helps to accomplish the other things we have on our lists.
These are worthy goals, and ways of organizing for life. Very nice.
I love your list!
