Expanding My Horizons: Adventures in Pinterest
Are you on Pinterest? Come chat with me about what I could be doing better!
Though I’ve had an account on Pinterest for a couple of years, I just converted to a business account. I have several ideas for new boards relating to this blog and the books I’m writing.
One board I’ve found to be a great help has images of Georgian Interiors and floor plans. Georgian decorating, at least in the wealthy homes, was over-the-top extravagant. Actually, I’m not a fan of the Regency stories that spend whole paragraphs on fashion and decorating details, but a touch here and there helps set the scene, and I’m weak in that area! Some of my stories move out of the parlours and bedchambers and I particularly like the pictures of kitchens, pantries, and work areas.
Boards are also good for creating characters. There are many, many handsome men who can stand in for our heroes, and if you don’t believe me, check out author Regina Jeffers’ Eye Candy board. Hey, looking at pictures of handsome men is part of a romance author’s job!
I have other boards for fun things, like racing day hats, cute animals, and recipes and research boards on Regency fashions and pirates. I have boards in the works for the next series of books I’m working on, and I’ll be revealing those soon.
If you have a chance, pop on over to my Pinterest site and let me know what you think. Suggestions are most welcome!
And please come back tomorrow for an excerpt from debut author Tracey A. Wood’s exciting new release, Midnight Angel.
