My Writing Process: Week 11 of the 52 Week Blog Challenge #MFRWAuthor — 6 Comments

  1. My muse likes to talk to me just as I’m falling asleep with some really great idea that I’m too lazy to get out of bed to write down. Therefore in the morning I’ve lost it all and I’m cussing myself. LOL Not always, but it’s happened a time or two. Oh the joys of pantsing and being lazy to boot.

  2. My muse talks to me at bed time also. Sometimes in the middle of the night. I have a very tolerant husband who can sleep through lights going on.The problem is, sometimes I can’t read my middle of the night scrawl!

  3. I believe you can train the muse through routine. I think it was Hemingway who said stop at an interesting point in the writing (not as a structural point like end of a chapter) so its easy to come back. That also keeps the muse in motion.

  4. Turning points — yes! My attempts at plotting center around them, while leaving wiggle room for how I get to them. They serve as necessary reminders about where I’m headed in the short term.
I guess there’s no blog hop post this week, but here’s my process.

  5. Thanks for stopping by, Ed! I’ll check out your post. I always like to see what other authors are doing.
